This is the invitation I sent to my group.  You can personalize it to fit your group and the area you live in.

You are cordially invited to a

Red Hat Scavenger Hunt

to be held on

Saturday, April 19th

Everyone will meet at my house at 9:30 a.m.

There will be 3 or 4 Red Hatters to a team

Teams will be chosen at random after I get the RSVP’s

I’ll notify everyone of the teams so you will

have time to determine who will bring what supplies

Each team will need:

1.  A digital camera, extra batteries

2.  Four or five containers to hold scavenged items

3.  A car

Each team will be given the list that day of items to hunt

Most of the items can be obtained in the Milton/Rochester area

Each item on the list is worth points

The more difficult the item is to attain the more points it is worth

This event will test your creativity and cleverness

in all kinds of ways so make sure

your head is screwed on tight and wear your red thinking cap!

We’ll meet for lunch at This ‘n That Restaurant on

Route 125 at the Rochester/Milton line at 12:30 p.m.

After lunch the teams will finish up on their scavenging

Then everyone will meet back at my house

at 3:30 p.m. for refreshments and

to award prizes to the winning team

I suggest wearing comfortable Red Hat regalia

I used this as the cover sheet for the list of items to scavenge.  I also provided pencils, paper and bottled water for each team member.

Helpful Hints:

*Read over the entire list first and make notes

*Prioritize items to minimize retracing your steps

*Multitask when possible

*Some items will require a computer

*Some items will require a digital camera, bring extra batteries

*Some tasks will need to be done during certain hours of the day

*Check items off the list as you acquire/complete them

*Keep track of which items belongs to who by keeping a list or by putting the items in separate bags or containers

Here is the list of items I gave to the teams.  Again, you can make changes or adjustments to suit your group and the area that you live in.  I made the list long thinking that each team should be able to find at least some of the items.  Imagine my surprise when the teams came back having found almost every item!  They ladies were a little apprehensive at first but then they really got into it and had a wonderful time.

write an original Limerick

A Limerick is a verse of five lines, usually humorous.  The last word of
lines 1,2 & 5 must rhyme with each other and the last word of lines
3 & 4 must rhyme with each other (but not with lines 1,2 & 5)
Examples:
I once knew a man from Bombay
who wore on his head a toupee.
He thought that he might
treat his friends to a sight
and remove it just for a day.
There once was a fellow named Tim
whose dad never taught him to swim.
He fell off a dock,
and sank like a rock.
And that was the sad end of him.
